ABOUT THE BINDING
The Journal uses a new and unique form of book binding that is like nothing else on the market, it is called 'Shoestring Binding', and was exclusively developed for making wooden journals. It combines the better virtues of the spiral bound notebook, such as the ability to lay flat, with the aesthetics, simplicity and elegance of a regular book. These journals truly do lay flat which makes them perfect for writing on. When the journal lays flat the pages also remain in somewhat of a locked position which means they likely will not blow around in high winds. The pages turn best when the journal is held slightly closed.
ABOUT JOURNAL REFILLS
All BookGrain journals are refillable simply send us your journal and we will send it back to you with fresh pages! For more instructions view the Journal Refill page:
ABOUT BOOKGRAIN JOURNALS
Motivated by a love for working with wood and a strong desire for simplicity and functionality, BookGrain Journals was founded in the Summer of 2013. It began with the hope of creating a new book binding, one which combined the better virtues of the spiral bound notebook, such as the ability to lay flat, with the aesthetics, simplicity and elegance of a regular book. After many failures, some flying sawdust, a bit of sanding, three drilled holes and one shoe-string later, the first BookGrain Journal was born.
It may seem obvious to say, but BookGrain journals are handmade all the way down to the logo, which is handwritten. We sincerely hope you enjoy your journal. All journals are homemade in Everett, Washington.
Payment methods are: credit or debit cards.
